PREMIER LEAGUE PREVIEW: ROUND 6

Premier League

SoccerSurgery offers our predicted scorelines for the weekend along with some tips for the Fantasy Premier League.

Leicester  @ Manchester United

Key Factor: Eric Bailly. This game will be played in the Leicester half. An uncomfortable proposition for Mourinho surely. Both teams prefer to play direct on the counter and with plenty of pasture for Vardy to run into Bailly will need to make 2 or 3 vital interceptions.

Scoreline: United 1 – Leicester 1

Everton @ Bournemouth

Key Factor: Yannick Bolassie. Barkley gets the plaudits from the English media but Bolassie is the key creative force thus far leading the team in minutes per chance created(35) despite having no stake in set pieces.

Scoreline:  Everton 2 – Bournemouth 0

Hull @ Liverpool

Key Factor: Coutinho. With Firmino likely to lead the line with Sturridge hobbled a lot of the play will flow through the Brazilian who blows hot and cold.

Scoreline: Liverpool 2 – Hull 0

Spurs @ Middlesborough

Key Factor: Son. The Asian Messi leads the team in chances created(8) since being installed to the starting lineup banking 2 goals and 2 assists.

Scoreline: Spurs 2 – Boro 0

West Brom  @ Stoke

Key Factor: Chadli. The ex-Spur comes off a barnstorming display(2 goals and an assist) last weekend against Westham and looks to be the most in form player on show in this one.

Scoreline: West Brom 1 –  Stoke 0

Crystal Palace @ Sunderland

Key Factor: Kone. Palace was already porous at conceding chances from set pieces, tied for most of any team(28). Add to this the potential injuries to starting central defenders Dann and Tomkins and we expect Moyes to break his losing streak.

Scoreline:Sunderland 2 – Crystal Palace 1

Man City  @ Swansea

Key Factor: Raheem Sterling. Resurgent under Guardiola, Sterling leads all attackers in touches in the penalty area(52).

Scoreline: Man City 2 – Swansea 0

Chelsea @ Arsenal

Key Factor – Hazard.  The Belgian is notoriously anonymous away from the Bridge. This game though he is needed desperately to keep his side in a game that could have goals given the poor form of Cahill and Luiz. Will Kante’s presence be enough to keep the Arsenal attack relatively quiet? Maybe.

Scoreline – Arsenal 1 – Chelsea 1

Southampton @ West Ham

Key Factor – The West Ham defense. Creating the most chances for teammates the last 2 games, Payet is an unstoppable force at the moment. The only problem is Bilic can’t find reliable bodies with Collins and Byram woefully inadequate and injuries to both left backs Masuaku and Cresswell. The pace of Redmond and Long will be too much for the Hammers.

Scoreline – Southampton 2 – West Ham 1

Watford @ Burnley

Key Factor – Etienne Capoue.  When you’re hot you’re hot. 4 goals is an incredible return for a player used as defensive midfielder most of his career. After a thumping win against Man United, Burnley should be an appetizer.

Scoreline –  Watford 2- Burnley 0

Fantasy Tips

Pick up of the week – Romelu Lakuku.  In great form(4 goals, 2 assists the last 2 games) with great fixtures on the horizon as well.

Dump of the week – Eden Hazard – No special insight here as sold on by over 240k. Wow. Perhaps overpriced at 10M the fixtures to come suggest sparse returns when other midfield bug hitters are on stride.
